| BIOGRAPHY Oakland California’s own Push To Talk are exploding onto the scene bringing their own brand of indie pop, infused with an earnest approach and honesty long missing from a genre filled with so many static fabricated acts. Their influences are as varied as their own personal tastes and styles. James Leste the primary songwriter, formerly of east bay punk greats Quest For Quintanaroo, has burgeoned his own style after years honing his songwriting craft. His powerful voice, often reminiscent of a younger Morrisey, sells the catchy hooks and skillful verses he’s penned yet can’t hide the frankness and honestly that permeates his lyrics. Peter Sulivan formerly of Oakland contemporaries The Wunder Years, brings his soulful, yearning guitar melodies and the telecaster twang that gives Push To Talk it’s signature sound. Nate Higley anchors down bottom end with his aggressive and melodic bass style, formerly of asian man records Short Round. Filling in void between the mid and low end, Brett Wittman on keys, came to Push To Talk after a late night phone call , asking if he remember anything from his 7 years childhood piano lessons. Last but certainly not least Adam Elliott who keeps the many facets of Push To Talk tightly locked with his overwhelming technical abilities on the drum kit. Over all the sonic landscape created by Push To Talk is lush one, at very least, and their manic live shows continue to win them fans from all walks of life where ever they’re given the opportunity to perform. |
